Rising to a height of 175 metres the Lumbini Cloud seeks to create a new beacon for this scared site of Buddhist pilgrimage, promoting a greater global understanding of its teachings through cultural tourism. A tripod of slender steel stems rises up from the unfurling spiral of the education-packed Lotus Podium to support an Observatory Cloud Ring promising panoramic views of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The geometry of Buddhist philosophy is embedded in halo of Rice Paddy Gardens and planted terraces to convey the 4 Noble Truths, 8 Noble Paths, and 12 Noble Deeds. Seemingly rooted in this glittering expanse of water, this tapering cluster of steel lattices carries the potent symbolism of ascension and new life.
